Simple Chocolate Cheesecake Without Cream Cheese

Most of us are in love with the flavors of classic cheesecake, but today on the blog I bring you a recipe for a version with chocolate. And the best part of it? This chocolate cheesecake does not contain any cream cheese!

Chocolate cheesecake to my taste – with the addition of a little cinnamon and cocoa in the base, is a real paradise for the palate.

Here you can play with the ingredients and use a variety of biscuits in the base, the classic petite, mcvities or maybe grancereale. ❤️

As for chocolate, I prefer this chocolate cheesecake with milk chocolate, but if you are a fan of dark, add it.

Chocolate Cheesecake Without Cream Cheese

To get started with my recipe for this amazing chocolate cheesecake without cream cheese, follow my instructions below.

Chocolate Cheesecake Without Cream Cheese

Biscuit Base

  • 120 g butter
  • 200 g grancereale, petit or mcvities biscuits
  • 5 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cocoa

Chocolate Cottage Cheese

  • 100 g milk or dark chocolate
  • 600 g softer cottage cheese
  • 1 lemon juice & zest
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 vanilla sugar
  • 5 tbsp coconut sugar
  • pinch of salt


  • 400 g sour cream or milerama
  • 3 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 2 packets vanilla sugar
  1. Start preparing your chocolate cheesecake without cream cheese by turning the oven to 200 ° C and letting it heat up.

  2. Line a 24 cm diameter mold with baking paper and grease the sides with a little butter.

  3. Prepare the base by melting the butter in a saucepan.

  4. Meanwhile, grind the biscuits, add sugar, a little cinnamon and cocoa and melted butter. Mix everything well and lightly and gently press into the mold.

  5. Place in the preheated oven for 4 minutes.

  6. Melt the chocolate and leave it to cool a bit. I personally prefer it with milk chocolate, but for dark lovers choose it.

  7. In a bowl, mix the cottage cheese juice of half a lemon, lemon zest, eggs, sugar and salt. When everything is combined, add the melted chocolate and once again mix everything briefly.

  8. Take the mold out of the oven, reduce the oven to 180 ° C, and pour the prepared chocolate cream over the biscuits, flatten it and return it to the oven for another 25 minutes.

  9. While the cake is baking, mix sour cream or mileram and sugar.

  10. When the cake is baked, lightly and slowly pour the cream over the cake, preferably with a spoon. Don’t pour it high above the cake so you don’t fall into the chocolate cream.

  11. Turn off the oven, flatten the cream and return to the switched off oven for another 5 minutes.

  12. The cake should be cooled to room temperature and then kept in the refrigerator for another 4 to 5 hours before your chocolate cheesecake without cream cheese will be ready for serving!

Play with the ingredients and use cookies like mcvities, and in the cream choose whether you want milk or dark chocolate.
